Lakai

Across the world there are different styles of music that represent so much about a culture. Some of those styles, however, are very similar and can be intermixed. Music is essentially an expression of how the artist feels or thinks, and when artists collaborate, it is like a molding of character, a connection that can span oceans and show each of us how the people of this world really are not that different.

My brother is a hip hop artist in Phoenix. He does shows in many clubs, and speciallizes in freestyling. His lyrics are unique because they tell a story of his life, or of creative and interesting characters. Right now, he has signed a contract for his new cd to be sold in Japan, and several of his songs are being circulated through Europe. His artist name is Lakai, and, though his music may not suit everyone, I am proud to be his brother. The song that this links to is called "A Child's Laugh". He worked with an artist from France to complete the track, so they created a connection of completely different parts of the world.

Here is the song

How is this song different or the same as other hip hop songs from the U.S.?
Can people really tell the difference between the same music styles from different cultures?
