I was particularlay drawn to the "what are people doing to help" section. Many believe that selling humans makes money, which it does in the short term, but activists are trying to prove how detrimental this practice is to world economies and how in the end, it's making everyone lose. This strategy of turning it on the big guys is very interesting to me. In a way, I think it could actually be effective considering it's always about money. If they aren't going to understand the importance of a life, they will understand the importance of keeping their money safe. Trying to appeal to their banks and not their emotions (because so obviously they don't have much) is potentially a way to stop this practice.
After seeing the move Taken, about a young girl who is kidnapped in Paris and sold into sex slavery while her father searches for and evetually finds her. The movie opened my eyes to the horrors of this practice and showed how drugged up and forever screwed up these girls were. It was heartbreaking, but of course, had a happy ending which is not a reality. The people sold into human slavery usually aren't whisked away on a white horse and taken to safety. They have to live with these terrors forever. Something must be done-it can no longer be ignored.
