Dominican Joe works with Makarios, an Austin based non-profit that is committed to educational development work in the Dominican Republic. They work directly with the farmers and families, paying them higher wages and investing in their communities through advancing education and promoting self-sustaining skills. So every cup of coffee you buy is not only fair trade and organic, it goes directly to supporting farmers and communities in the Dominican Republic!!
Dominican Joe is at the corner of Riverside and Congress and has a really cool study atmosphere. The people there, both working and studying, are some of the nicest and most laid back people I've ever come across, which makes it a comfortable atmosphere as well.
