Question for Thursday
It was mentioned in the American Manufacturing Trade Action Coalition that the latest WTO meeting collapsed after India and China refused to lower trade barriers on agricultural products without an easily triggered safeguard. My question is how is this refusal by China, who is the primary exporting manufacturing country to the United States, going to affect the already downtrodden markets? In essence, will the United States and other members of the WTO have to apply pressure to China or India, or will we have to look elsewhere to keep the influx of goods at a status-quo?
