We're melting!!! Or are we??

This weeks readings were extremely interesting. Although I found some of the paragraphs a little wordy and complicated, the overall messages were great and super educational. I specifically was very drawn to the story about the girl photographing a town that a well was being put into. It was shocking to me to realize that clean water is a privilege to most people worldwide when I complain about how I think tap water is so disgusting. The second I finished that story i decided to be a lot more conscious about my water drinking habits. It's ridiculous how much more Americans take advantage of their water. Do we really need 30 min showers? Do we have to leave the water running when we brush our teeth? Absolutely not, but we are careless enough to think that these amenities are scarce in most of the world. It makes me so sad that women have to walk miles to pick up jugs of water- How can this be happening?
If I had the sciencey brain I would jump on the bandwagon and find a way to convert sea water to
drinking water. We have electricity and are flying to the moon...I think this is a reasonable proposition. I pray to see the day that poverty is non-existent and necessary things to survive-like water and food-are both provided and not taken advantage of
