It is CRAZY that 97.5% of earth’s water is saltwater and that 1.1 billion people have no access to clean drinking water.
Another scary fact is that those from developed countries consume between 70-80 percent of the planets resources. If the other countries start catching up to us, what is everyone going to do? What is going to happen to the Earth?? We need some serious regulation.
If it is true that technology contributes to interference with nature, then our country is in BIG trouble. In the last 50 years I think there has been more new technology come about than in the past thousands of years. Technology is growing and growing every day. More and more energy efficient technology has come about recently however due to this growing problem.
Hybrid cars, eco –CLEANers, organic food and shirts… maybe all this will lead to some change.
The phrase “Water is a human right” is something most would never have thought about in the past. With this alarming problem, it now makes complete sense. Hopefully the government can figure out some way to enable everyone access to clean water. I hope they can make the right to water some sort of law worldwide.
